News Release: IN Space, LLC Successfully Test Fires an 8500 lbf, Multiple Start Rocket Engine
IN Space, LLC has successfully test fired a torch ignited hydrogen peroxide and hydrocarbon-fueled thrust chamber assembly capable of producing 8500 pounds of thrust. These tests were conducted to demonstrate a new torch ignition system being developed to enable lighter weight and lower cost small launch vehicles. The test fires were conducted at the Purdue University Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories at the West Lafayette campus. This work is funded by a Missile Defense Agency Phase II STTR, the Indiana 21st Century Research and Technology Fund, and Northrop Grumman Space Technology.
